Over View:

The T-birds host the Trailblazers for the 1st time since the 2010 season when (SUU last won 52-0 ) Utah Tech is 0-2 in the NCAA era But this is the first time they meet as FCS Schools who are now both members of the WAC.

SUU joined the Conference at the start of this season, Leaving the Big Sky.

This will be the 1st of 2 meetings between the schools this Saturday night with Kickoff at 6pm. With the Rematch back in St George Nov, 4th. The game will Live on the Fan Sports Network 99.5 in St George or 93.1 in Cedar City

After a fierce battle for the starting QB job in Camp its clear that Kobe Tracy has won the job moving forward, Although he got a little banged up in the 44-14 loss to #12 Weber State last week but knowing Kobe he is going to try and play this week. Hes coming off season low in passing yards with just 225 last week, but on the season the Trailblazers are averaging 383 yards per game “unofficially” 9th in the FCS in the country. Tracy has throw for 992 yards and 7 TD’s with just 1 INT.

Tracy will rely on Wazzu Transfer Joey Hobert who has been electric in his first 3 games, hes caught 27 passes for 467 Yds averaging 155,7 receiving yards per game and has 4 Tds which puts him top 4 in the FCS rankings if the Blazers were able to be considered for them since they are still transitioning to Division 1 they are not listed in the official Stats.

UT-Key to winning-Trailblazers will need to be efficient on 3rd and 4th down and get the big plays if they are going to light up the scoreboard. Defensively they will have to contain T-bird WR- I. Wooden who has 4.4 speed.

1st year head coach Delaine Fitzgerald says this is not a rivalry….yet.

But both teams and fan bases hope it becomes one starting this Saturday

Coach Fitzgerald has to like returning QB Justin Miller who enters this game with 617 yds passing and has throw 4 TD’s and with 3 of the 4 going to Isaiah Wooden.

The T-birds use a running back by Committee as 12 different T-birds have at least 2 carries or more.

Josh Dunn is the leading tackler with 21 total from his SAM backer position meanwhile MLB Kohner Cullimore has 19 on the season.

SUU- Key to winning- Get Justin Miller in Rhythm and compete 65% or more of passes and get the ball to Wooden in Space the Defense needs to Pressure Tracy & Contain Passing of UT/ limit the Deep Ball big plays.
