Fans of local sports have plenty to cheer for tonight as Region 9 high school girls soccer and volleyball, as well as college women’s volleyball, take the spotlight.

In girls soccer, the action kicks off at 7 p.m. with three Region 9 matchups: Dixie travels to Pine View, Crimson Cliffs visits Cedar, and Snow Canyon faces Desert Hills.

Over on the volleyball courts, Dixie will take on Snow Canyon, also starting at 7 p.m.

College sports enthusiasts can catch the Utah Tech women’s volleyball team as they face off against Southern Utah University at the America First Event Center in Cedar City. The game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Utah Mammoth and the Vegas Golden Knights go head to head in a Pre-Season showdown at 8:00pm.

Ace Bailey of the Utah Jazz fired his manager, Omar Cooper and will seek out new representation.

Pine View Panther’s 8th grade football team is drawing a lot of attention for being forced to forfit their most recently scheduled game. Why? Because the league told the team their players are “too big”. Parents and fans are split on whether this team should be able to play in the SUNYFL.

On one side, parents want to see their kids play. They may be bigger than other 8th graders, but they are still within the requirements set by the league and therefore, should be able to play.

On the other side, parents and fans worry about the safety of their children that are playing against kids much bigger than them.

The team is currently working on securing their own independent schedule to continue on their season.
