Region 9 football delivered another thrilling Friday night. Crimson Cliffs edged out Snow Canyon 28-21 in a hard-fought battle. Pine View pulled off a close 31-27 victory, while Desert Hills earned a gritty 14-10 win.

On the soccer pitch, Region 9 girls are back in action tonight. Dixie travels to Pine View for a 4:00 p.m. matchup, while Snow Canyon takes on Desert Hills under the lights at 7:30 p.m.

At the college level, Utah Tech football ran into another ranked opponent on the road, falling to Austin Peay 42-10. That marks four straight losses against ranked FCS teams to open the season. The Trailblazer soccer team found better fortune, opening WAC play with a 2-1 win over Southern Utah on Sunday. They’ll continue conference play Thursday against Abilene Christian.

Southern Utah football came up just short against No. 18 West Georgia, dropping a 27-24 heartbreaker.
