Region 9 Girls Soccer, Volleyball in Action; Utah Tech Coaches Show Tonight; Jazz Media Day Highlights

It was a busy night for Region 9 girls soccer on Monday. The Dixie Flyers shut out Pine View 3-0, while Snow Canyon took down Desert Hills 2-1.

More Region 9 soccer is set for tonight with Desert Hills visiting Hurricane, Dixie traveling to Cedar, and Pine View taking on Snow Canyon.

On the volleyball court, Region 9 action continues this evening as Parowan heads to Dixie in a non-region showdown, Snow Canyon travels to Hurricane, Desert Hills plays at Pine View, and Crimson Cliffs matches up with Cedar.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz held Media Day yesterday. The biggest storyline came from center Walker Kessler, who addressed questions about his contract extension eligibility. Kessler noted his frustration that an extension hasn’t been offered yet, and said he doesn’t want negotiations to become a distraction once the season begins.

And in hockey, it’s gameday for the Utah Mammoth, who host the L.A. Kings in Boise, Idaho.
