It was a busy night across Southern Utah sports, with Region 9 action highlighting the local slate.

In girls soccer, Snow Canyon battled Cedar to a dramatic finish, coming away with a shootout victory. Crimson Cliffs took care of business against Dixie, earning a decisive 4-0 win. Meanwhile, Hurricane edged Pine View on the road in a 3-2 contest.

At the college level, Utah Tech volleyball picked up a statement win over Cal Baptist, sweeping the match in three sets. The Trailblazers return home tomorrow at noon to host Utah Valley in a pivotal matchup as they fight for the top spot in the WAC standings. Utah Tech women’s soccer, meanwhile, battled Abilene Christian to a draw.

Southern Utah University also found success on the pitch, with the women’s soccer team earning a 2-0 road victory at Tarleton State on Thursday.

On the professional side, the Utah Mammoth opened their home preseason schedule with a win over the Kings, setting a strong tone to start their campaign. The Vegas Golden Knights will wrap up preseason play tonight against the San Jose Sharks, with puck drop set for 8 p.m.

In the NFL, the Las Vegas Raiders hit the road to take on the Indianapolis Colts this weekend. The Raiders enter the matchup as 6.5-point underdogs.
