Region 9 Basketball
Region 9 Boys Basketball has taken off with multiple head-to-head games. Last week, Pine View, Crimson Cliffs, and Hurricane got wins in the first round of region games. Desert Hills picked up a win on Friday in the lone Region 9 Match up. Pine View leads the region followed by Hurricane then Crimson Cliffs. Desert Hills comes in 4th in the region followed by Dixie with Snow Canyon and Cedar roudning off the standings.
There will be four games broadcast on The Fan Sports Network this week with two on Wednesday and two more on Friday.
Utah Tech and SUU
Utah Tech Men’s Basketball is even at .500 with their latest game being a win against Justice University. Their next battle will be on Saturday in Ogden as the Blazers take on Weber State.
SUU T-Birds haven’t seen as much success this season with a tough non-conference schedule. They recently fell to B1G team, Washington Huskies with their next game being this Thursday against Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. They take a break or Christmas, but will be back on December 29th with their first conference game against Utah Tech in St. George at the Burns Arena.
Utah Jazz
Utah takes home a win against the Grizzlies back on Friday night. They will face off against Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks tonight at 7:00pm in Salt Lake City. Dallas is favored by 1.5 points tonight.
Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas took home four wins from their five game road trip with their latest win coming this weekend against Columbus Blue Jackets. They stand on top of the Pacific Division and look to make another run to the playoffs this year.
Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth accomplished their biggest comeback in franchise history yesterday afternoon in their win against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pittsburg led 3-0 going into the third period. Utah scored 3 goals to tie it up. They would ultimately end regulation tied up 4-4. In overtime, Dylan Guenther got the goal to give the Mammoth the win.
